Power is around every corner in this FW12 Prada Men’s show. True that Gary Oldman walking the red carpet exaggerates the tension, but i have to admit the clothes itself and the styling is still generating the power originally.
Miuccia Prada always brings us surprises whenever new collection launches. This time she gives us gentlemen from the post World War II with an Victorian accent – white turtleneck underneath, double breast long coat and pocket ornaments.
Despite everything about power women and unisex thing, suits are Men’s fate. No fussy, just the tailored cut, with minimal ornament and cordial colour. Madame Prada shows us the chicest accessories possible on pockets, sunglasses, check! Floral neckpiece, check! Brooch, check! Yes! We almost forget all these little things for a gentlemen.
And yes we are so blind to explore the subtlety of colour, how pinstripes and graphic pattern could possibly become to harmony.
After all these gentlemen’s package, the outfit itself generate power, the power of neatness, power of a la mode, power of formality.

Music is all around me every morning on my way to the office. It is a habit to play myself a featuring song to begin a brand new day. I guess most of us is a good listener to whatever music. Someone DO have the gift to sing, some can play the piano, some can compose a beautiful melody, a few talented ones can put all the good things together and bring us consonance. Miuccia Prada is one of THE FEW GOOD ones in fashion, brings newness to people every season.
Especially when Abbey Lee Kershaw walks down the runway in the appealing printed tube this SS12, we are well aware of wildness in an appropriate and sophisticated way. The collection brings us an exciting adventure to the American western highway, but it’s all about enjoying the wild without sacrificing the metropolitanism.
Delicate embellishment in floral shape, look so fragile, surprisingly it gives a power of femininity when it meets leather. This is how Ms. Prada works her girl power tricks. The masterpieces are girls’-mannish-softness. Say for instance, the drop shoulder on the jackets, when you strip down all the details are they literally a men’s bomb jacket? Stolen jacket from boys always works best.
Muccia Prada is not in the pool of being the hottest trend, she indeed is the trend setter, she combines the masculine elements like bullets and flames and car onto light and sheer chiffon, then tints them with girly sweet baby blue and rose pink………….nothing but irresistible!

Always thought 1940 is golden era when people started building a new era after they destroyed everything themselves. Women in that time they protected themselves because most of men were not by their side. Military suits became the key signature look.
Simplicity again dominated this golden era and again, classic and chic came after the tidiness it created.
Nothing too glamorous but women had their own tricks to be stylish, huge clutch and red, intense lipsticks. miu miu always bring me back to this certain golden age with their sophisticated earth tones and the subtleness of being sexy.
I guess there’s must be someone against the fact that teenage girls like Hailee Steinfeld wearing the 40s inspired miu miu overall wool daysuit. There is still the irresistible charm.
Wide shoulder, long and sleek bottom, shirt’s collar, it should be originated from men’s suit. It all balanced by matching with glittery boots and nappa clutch, i love those tricky elements that wins all girls’ prior-WANTED lists.
Although the whole collection draws me into 1940s which reminds me about hard post war time i can still feel the romance the dress carries.
When Coco Chanel puts on the pants i/o long skirt to attend social events, people thought she’s insane. In my life it’s just the norm to walk with both cloth chimneys. Not the skirts too girlie it’s just the best on me. The only rule is to roll the hems up, to show a little ankle, socks end and the booties.
ok, i admit that i intend to dress like what boys do, with basic tees and pants-next-to-me, voila!
From most of my experiments, what works best is usually the most simple clothes. The tricks i guess would be how we coordinate our look with accessories!
When the time “you don’t know what to buy” comes, it’s when you should hold a cup of coffee and sit right in front of the screen to surf on what you really want to put on YOU.
Here I come……
Boyish, nothing too cute or sweet…….
if the outfit is not boring that would do…………..
So when i flick every fashion blogs and snapshots i try to ask myself what is the point you like it.
say for example, the fur trim below and the printed skirt, definitely like the colour of the whole outfit, even the fair skintone and the bloody lipstick on the girl. This is aperfect mix and match from head to toe.
I always wonder how the girl makes herself looked so chic yet simple. Nothing too much, no extra accessories the light-the-face-make-up.
Look at her! Just plain shirt and pant, but with the scarf as headband, the textured coat and the vintage motif handbag, she’s all that!
I like the way they are not girlie i like them in shirts and pants, i like them mixing the basic item with something vintage-inspired.
